Collaborators, designers, editors and influencers who have long supported The Rug Company joined us to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Hyde Park’s Serpentine North Gallery this spring. For an evening of cocktails and canapés, both old and new friends gather around an interactive screen featuring our most iconic designs and enjoy the music of DJ Amber Le Bon.
The Carpet Company’s master dyer, Krishna Raut is based in Kathmandu, Nepal and is the most important person in the vital dyeing process, responsible for combining and preparing the dyes for each carpet.
Considered a ‘nose’ in the wine industry, the Master of Coloring has its own laboratory, a mysterious and exciting lair of bubbling flasks, bottles of vibrant liquids and pigments, where he suggested dyeing recipes. He came up with the formula for each of the different colors used on the rug, and each color took about a day to create.
